          We prefer the use of acrylic over glass for a multitude of reasons. Acrylic is shatterproof and less likely to break into sharp pieces than glass should an accident occur and it is about half the weight of glass, making it easier to handle and install. Acrylic can transmit up to 92% of visible light, similar to glass and it can block up to 99% of UV rays, while most glass blocks almost none. Lastly, acrylic can be more expensive than glass, but its long lifespan can make it a more cost-efficient option in the long run.
